ANTIQUE CLOCK REPAIR

Antique and Modern Clock Repair for the Greater Buffalo, NY Area

All repairs are done on our premises by our master clockmaker. We have all the necessary equipment and expertise to restore your clock to its original mechanical condition.

We use a variety of cleaning methods, depending on the specifics of the job. Our shop is equipped with state-of-the-art cleaning equipment and solutions.

Each clock is disassembled, inspected, thoroughly cleaned and adjusted. All pivots are polished and burnished as necessary. Old bushings (bearings) are drilled out as needed and new bushings are pressed in to eliminate wear problems. Each component of every clock is thoroughly inspected after cleaning and before being reassembled.

Each movement is properly lubricated with the highest quality synthetic clock oils and greases, which will not gum up or evaporate like natural lubricants, and then tested to insure accuracy. Depending on the complexity of the clock; chime, strike, calendar and any other auxiliary functions are then thoroughly tested.

We have state-of-the-art timing equipment to aid us in making critical adjustments. After the clock is repaired in our shop, we take the necessary time to make sure each piece is regulated to be as accurate as possible.

We also provide case refinishing and restoration, depending on the customer’s requests.

This Doctor Still Makes House Calls!

In-home service calls for grandfather clock repairs are available to residents in Buffalo, NY and the entire Western New York area.

Some grandfather clocks have not been operating for years because of the lack of this type of service. This has been the fastest-growing portion of our business. Our reputation speaks well for the many antique clock repairs and restorations we have completed. Many area heirlooms are running and chiming again for the enjoyment of their owners.

Prices vary depending on the location and type of grandfather clock being serviced. Feel free to contact us for further information or schedule an appointment!

Estimates

Each clock is inspected thoroughly upon receipt and a detailed estimate is provided before any repair work is done.

Estimates are usually free. However, there may be a nominal estimating fee on some complicated clocks, especially if they’ve fallen into the hands of someone who was not qualified to handle such delicate items.

In most cases, the only costs incurred for estimates are postage and packing to and from our shop.

Custom Parts

We have the proper equipment and experience necessary to duplicate just about any component your clock may require: gears, pinions, arbors, levers, bearings, jewels, etc.

Custom parts are made only for use in repairs performed in our shop. If we are unable to make a particular part needed for your timepiece, we have contacts with many specialists who can.

Obsolete Parts

We have purchased the contents of several clock repair shops throughout the years and have accumulated a great deal of hard-to-find and obsolete parts for many antique clocks. Parts in our inventory are available only for repairs done in our shop.

Warranties

All repairs done in our shop carry a warranty of 90 days or one year, depending on the repair. We cannot guarantee situations beyond our control, such as damage from do-it-yourself inspectors and other accidental mishaps.

We do everything possible to make sure that every clock we repair is as mechanically sound as possible!

Overhauled metal clock movements are warranted to perform for a period of one year from the date of completion of work, without defects of material or workmanship, except for breakage of any springs and damage caused thereby, or upon evidence of tampering or alteration to work performed by the antique clock doctor.

What We Won’t Do

We don’t do partial repairs or patch jobs, make parts for the trade, do any type of trade work for other shops or provide repairs on low-quality clocks.

We want all of our customers to be satisfied.
